McCann Erickson Birmingham has appointed Gray Dudek as managing director of its digital operation McCann-I.

The former Rees Bradley Hepburn digital director takes up his new board level position this month.

Dudek has been in digital for 10 years, spending time client side at Mars Incorporated and Capita Group, and working with brands including Land Rover, Hyundai, ASDA Walmart, Adidas and Nokia through agencies.

He was also behind the creation of Infegy Europe, the company which provides the social media and marketing tool Social Radar.

Dean Lovett, McCann Erickson Central CEO, said: “His social media knowledge and ability alone is testament of his experience within the industry, and we are thrilled that Gray is already at work on several key accounts across the agency."

Dudek will oversee McCann Birmingham's digital output and his arrival follows the recruitment of two new members to the McCann-i team.

One has been announced as Andrew Bowyer from Birmingham-based Clusta, where he delivered the augmented reality online campaign for the Molson Coors Home Draught launch.

Dudek said: “There are a lot of very talented people at Communications House and within McCann-i, and I am looking forward to working with them and encouraging the agency to seize new opportunities. I’ll be working on some great clients and am excited about watching the team and business grow.”
