Bray Leino Bristol managing director Ian Noble has been placed on gardening leave after deciding to move on from the agency.

It is understood that Noble, who joined the Bristol office of the company in 1997 from The Guardian newspaper, where he was group head, has decided to leave without a job to go to.

Bray Leino, which has its head office in Devon, has already begun the search for his successor in Bristol.

Chief executive Bruce Hutton informed The Drum that he is already interviewing and that a new MD will be announced before the end of the year.

In the meantime Hutton will oversee the running of the Bristol office personally. He is also understood to be set to move the Bristol base to a new office.

“This is a great opportunity for us to look at the management line-up overall and bring in someone new," Hutton said.

"Ian is a great bloke and he’s been great for the business. I respect his decision to move on and it’s the right time for us to move on and for us to decide on how the company's development."
