Feather Brooksbank's sponsorship and event marketing department has secured the sponsorship of Festival in the Sky at this year’s Edinburgh Festival for flight search engine Skyscanner.net.

Festival in the Sky is tipped to be one of the star attraction of this year’s festival with diners heading to The Sky Gardens in Princes Street Gardens, where the attraction will be based.

Millions travel from far and wide to come to the Festival, so this sponsorship will aim to engage Skyscanner with an audience in a "fun and relevant" manner.

The unique dining experience, which has entertained guests the world over with appearances in Toronto, Paris (pictured) and Las Vegas (pictured), will be premiering at the Edinburgh Festival from 1-31 August.

Diners can choose from gourmet breakfast, lunch or high tea “flights”, all of which come with a spectacular 360 degree view of Edinburgh’s skyline from the 22-seater table suspended 100 feet above the ground.

The sponsorship deal, secured by Feather Brooksbank, gives Skyscanner naming rights with branding on all marketing collateral and site infrastructure, including the 20ft long table in the sky. However, Skyscanner's aim is to activate the partnership with media partners, online and through PR.

Stuart Feather, Feather Brooksbank’s managing director, commented on the sponsorship: “We are delighted to announce Skyscanner’s sponsorship of Festival in the Sky. Not only do we see the association as a perfect fit for the brand, but Skyscanner is a Scottish success story and as this is the first time the platform has appeared in Scotland it only highlights Skyscanner’s willingness for innovation. It’s a fantastic opportunity for Skyscanner to reach not only a Scottish audience, but a far wider one as the attraction sits centre stage during the Edinburgh Festivals programme of events. We hope that this is the beginning of a long association between the two companies."

Commenting on the sponsorship deal, Frank Skivington, Skyscanner’s Sales & Marketing Director said, “As an international company based in Edinburgh, the Edinburgh Festival presents an ideal medium for us to market Skyscanner.net to a worldwide audience. Skyscanner presents Festival in the Sky is the perfect product through which to achieve this with the obvious flight / sky connection and the fact that it is such a unique, innovative and attention grabbing attraction.”

Festival in the Sky is being brought to Scotland by DADA Ventures. Oli Norman, managing director of DADA, said: “We’re delighted to have Skyscanner on board with this ambitious and exciting DADA Venture.

“Festival in the Sky presents a really unique platform from which Skyscanner can reach a global audience from their base in Edinburgh and we’re looking forward to a successful and mutually beneficial partnership throughout the month of August. Skyscanner is a world class company and having a flight search engine as our title sponsor makes the whole Festival in the Sky flight experience complete.”
