The Scottish Government has drafted a shortlist of two marketing services roster agencies to pitch for the new cluster contract for its Greener Scotland account.

The roster agencies down to the final two are understood to be Story and Merle with the winner set to work on all of the Scottish Government’s Go Greener, Zero Waste and Food policy activity.

The first two campaigns to be rolled out under the new cluster will be Recycling (Zero Waste) and Eat Fresh & Seasonal (Food) while the budget for the cluster over 2010-2011, including media, production, creative and associated costs, is likely to be between £900,000 and £2 million.

While not the direct incumbent, Newhaven has overseen the bulk of activity in this area in recent years, including the creation of Mr Earth for the most recent environmental campaigns.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Government was unable to confirm or comment on the shortlist due to procurement policy which forbids official comment to made until the process is complete.

Story won the first of The Scottish Government’s cluster tenders in May for the Health Improvement Social Marketing Strategy (HISMS) Risk behaviours contract.
