Pizza delivery brand Domino’s is set to release a smartphone app which will allow consumers to choose and order their choice of pizza for delivery.

Speaking to The Drum, newly appointed marketing Simon Wallis explained that the app would offer customers their range of pizzas, as well as feature GPS in order to find the customer's location and relay the details of their nearest store.

A ‘Pizza slow machine’ game will also accompany the app which will allow customers to randomly choose which pizza they would like to order, should they be unable to decide.

Wallis said that while the development of the app would be used to relay the brand’s personality and messages, the focus would be placed mainly on pizza ordering and delivery.

He added that he also believed that the app should have been developed previously by the brand.

“It’s a little bit belated if I’m honest, it should have been there long before now, but that will be there and available to the market very shortly,” he said before adding that the development of the iPad for a further avenue that the brand was interested in using.

“Generally speaking what we have to do in terms of the brand is to try and make Dominos available anywhere for anyone who wants it whenever they need it,” added Wallis.

The Domino’s app will be made available to download through the Apple store, for free, in the coming weeks.

Last week, The Drum reported that Domino’s was still considering whether to renew its sponsorship with flagship ITV show Britain’s Got Talent.
