Halifax agency Digital Consortium has built a new website for the Creative Calderdale project.

Creative Calderdale's remit is to encourage new start-up businesses, attract inward investment and improve the competitiveness of local creative and digital businesses in the region.

Its new website, built using the open source content management system Joomla!, includes news and a business directory of all members.

Another feature is a 'space locator' that allows people to find office space, dance and film studios in the area.

Members can post their own jobs and project opportunities and a discussion board and Q&A section will be added in the next few weeks to encourage collaboration between agencies.

Guy Utley, creative director of Digital Consortium, said: "The concept of a virtual hub for creative companies in our area is something we've been discussing as a team for a long time. I use similar sites like this on a daily basis, but these all seem to be national websites.

"We are proud to be working in Calderdale and have a genuine passion for the area, so we were pleased to be able to create the website that is dedicated to promoting it."
