Greig Mailer, marketing and communications manager for the Scottish Premier League (SPL) is set to leave his post to join the recently formed marketing business of UEFA.

Mailer will take up a new position at UEFA Events in Switzerland from the beginning of September, leaving behind the role he has held for nearly seven years.

Neil Doncaster, chief executive of the SPL, said: “I would like to pay tribute to the seven years of service which Greig has given to the SPL. He has played a major role in shaping the direction of our commercial and communications activities. He has been an integral member of the management team and, in short, has been an absolute star.”

Doncaster concluded: “I have complete confidence that he will thrive in his new role at UEFA Events.”

Mailer is expected to leave the SPL in the middle of August.
