Users to issue spending cut ideas to Government through Facebook
The UK Government is to work alongside Facebook in order to garner new ideas on its spending cuts, which will see Chancellor George Osbourne meet with some of those who have expressed ideas already through the site.
The site claims that 23 million members in the UK have agreed to submit and vote on ideas as to where the Government’s spending cuts can be made, with 50,000 ideas said to have been put forward already through Facebook.
In order to achieve this, a dedicated page has been created as an expansion of Facebook’s ‘Democracy UK’ pages, which were created ahead of the recent election.
