A knife campaign from the Scottish Government and created by The Leith Agency and piloted lasted year in Inverclyde is to roll out across Glasgow, Edinburgh and Clackmannanshire highlighting the consequences of carrying a knife to young people in these regions.

‘No Knives Better Lives’ included posters and two cinema adverts, produced by MTP, as well as phone kiosk and ambient media featuring photography by David Gilanders who worked at ground level with street gangs, offering photography workshops to many of the kids.

Mark Segar was also involved in photographing much of the campaign.

The campaign will roll out to the new regions later this month and will use a range of diversionary activities such as football, music and creative events, supperted by a dedicated website.

A social marketing campaign depicting the life-changing choice between ‘knife or life’ made by many young people will also begin after the October holidays, targeting local secondary schools.
