The Long Clawson Dairy has appointed Manchester agency Brazen to give it a PR push as it approaches its centenary year in 2011.

The Manchester agency has already got to work on the account and has struck a deal with TV chef Tom Aikens (pictured) to create a cookery book showing the dairy's recipes through the decades.

The Iron Chef star's book will come out next year to coincide with the company's 100th birthday. In the meantime Brazen will promote the dairy's cheese brands.

It will handle a social media campaign and bespoke retailer events to promote the Clawson Cheese range and run all consumer and digital comms for Paneer Cheese, a specialist product used in traditional Asian dishes.

Long Clawson Dairy's marketing manager, Janice Breedon, said: "The dairy’s 100th birthday is an important milestone for the company and we are confident that Brazen will deliver the goods."

Brazen already has a taste for cheese brands - it has handled PR for the Stilton Cheese Makers’ Association for the past seven years and worked with Lancashire Cheese and Cheshire Cheese.

The agency's deputy MD, Gary Bramwell, said: "We are very proud to be involved with Long Clawson Dairy and are planning some unique and exciting campaigns to ensure its centenary year is as eventful as possible. Watch this space.”
