The identity for this year’s Edinburgh International Book Festival has been designed by Tangent Graphic.

The concept highlights literatures reflection of trends and issues within society is at the heart of the festival programme which was unveiled at the end of last week by Nick Barley, the new director of the festival.

‘The World in Words’ campaign has been developed by the Glasgow consultancy to highlight the idea across its promotional materials including an eighty-page listings brochure.

David Whyte, co-director of Tangent, commented, “The visual identity we developed had to reflect both the themes of the festival and also it’s international standing, while appealing to a varied audience. With such a demanding job it was pleasing that the client had a strong understanding of design and allowed us the scope to develop something everyone in the team is really pleased with”
