Crown Paints has appointed Jon Dingoor as commercial manager for export and licensing, as the brand looks to step up its overseas trade drive.

Joining from Akzo Nobel Decorative Coatings, which previously owned Crown until it’s sale in 2008, Dingoor will be tasked with overseeing the development of overseas sales and for forging agreements for the Lancashire company’s key brands such as Crown, Berger, Sandtex, Macpherson and Permoglaze.

Brian Davidson, chief executive of Crown, said: “With his extensive experience of working at the highest level in export and licensing, and his in-depth knowledge of all our key brands and their potential for growth in new markets, he is the ideal person to deliver our aggressive growth strategy.”

Jon previously worked at Akzo Nobel Decorative Coatings, which owned Crown until a management buyout backed by turnaround private equity specialist Endless in 2008.
