Online technology store eXpansys has appointed Manchester agency Brazen to handle its UK consumer PR and communications after a three-way pitch.

The store, which sells smartphones, computers and other electronics, has briefed Brazen to raise the profile of the business among online technology writers, consumers and bloggers and to raise national awareness of the company's soon to be announced brand repositioning.

Social media will play a big part in the PR push, Brazen said. Zoe Colver, eXpansys's marketing manager, added: "This was very much a social media driven pitch and Brazen showed a first class understanding of exactly how to approach digital PR in a unique and refreshing way."

The retailer runs 60 websites in 16 languages and gets more than 2.2 million customer visits per month from consumers in over 100 countries.
