Manchester design agency Corporation Pop has announced the arrival of Mark Curtis as its new head of digital.
Curtis joins the agency at its new offices in Shudehill having previously been a project leader at The Gate Films.
He has worked in software development and engineering for 10 years in roles at NCR Corporation, Flame Digital and Incline Media.
Dom Raban, managing director at Corporation Pop, said: “We are renowned for our expertise in virtual world development and as this sector continues to grow we needed a leading head to help us exploit our market leading position.
"Mark will be driving forward several exciting new product developments as well as growing our overall digital offering. He has the perfect skill-set and background for what we were looking for and we’re delighted to welcome him on board.”
Outlining his role, Curtis said: "I'll be responsible for managing day-to-day activities, including projects and strategy, and have already started work on some pretty neat stuff, so expect to hear us shouting about some new developments very soon.”
Corporation Pop was helped to make the appointment with support from North West Vision and Media's Regional Attraction Fund (RAF).
The RAF scheme is delivered in partnership with the Northwest Regional Development Agency and is designed to encourage the growth of companies in the TV, film, games, interactive and digital content sectors.
Enda Carey, sector lead for games, digital and creative services at Vision and Media, said: “The purpose of the RAF is to enable growth, provide a boost to the regional economy and support job creation for creative professionals in the North West so we’re delighted to see that Corporation Pop has used our support to make this appointment.”
