Following a nine-way pitch, 999 Design Manchester has won the opportunity to undertake all design and marketing work for BBC Regions.

Consisting of over 40 different radio stations across the UK, 999 will be responsible for station promotional work, which will include advertising various shows and literature for local events.

To kick start the new relationship, 999 has created the branding and marketing material for a major new initiative launching this week across the UK. The initiative between the BBC and the National Trust aims to highlight the increasingly dramatic decline in the British bee population and educate the general public in how they can play their part in saving the bee.

999 was tasked with designing a identity and strap line for the programme Bee Part Of It. They have also created bespoke seed packets, as well as a series of bee hive signage for each BBC Region.

The agency has also created a mini animation of the logo and which will be used on TV and online. This will run on a range of television programmes including Springwatch.

Andy Helme, Managing Director of 999 Manchester said: "This is a great opportunity for 999 to expand and develop. Working with the BBC will really help to strengthen our credentials and allow us to push our creative ideas to new limits.

"The Bee Part Of It series is set to be very popular and to be able to be involved is really exciting. A great deal of thought and hard work went in to our pitch and we are delighted that the determination of those who were part of it has paid off."
