A new online community, Yorkshire Innovation, has been launched which aims to promote and support innovation across Yorkshire and other regions.

Yorkshire Innovation, the regional Science and Industry Council has been formed to meet virtually in order to exchange ideas and share best practice.

The online community will allow users to create profiles and line to blogs, share tweets and ideas and use open and closed forums with Epiphany Solutions providing the platform, web development and link building campaign, and Umpf providing PR and social media support.

Yorkshire Innovation will advise Yorkshire Forward on strategic opportunities for industry and innovation.

Richard Gregory OBE, chairman of Yorkshire Innovation, said: “We are thrilled to launch this new online community today and know that it will have a tremendously positive impact on the productivity and progressiveness of many companies across Yorkshire.

“We believe that there are many innovative minds working across Yorkshire and to bring such creativity and talent together in one place is a powerful thing. Through Yorkshire Innovation we aim to strengthen and support innovation across the region and help businesses to gain competitive advantage.”
