A new film and digital campaign to promote the Royal Air Force (RAF) Association’s Wings Appeal has been created by Chapter.

The ‘Miles More Minutes’ campaign has been developed to increase awareness of what life is like for RAF personnel serving in Afghanistan, as well as raising money to fund more calls home.

The campaign will run through online and traditional media platforms.

Rachel Huxford, director of fundraising for RAF, said: "Because of strict security, RAF personnel serving in places like Afghanistan can't use their mobiles to call home and they're currently allowed the equivalent of four-and-a-half minutes a day on the secure lines provided by the Ministry of Defence.

"Calls home really are the high point of their week - a brief moment of normality amidst circumstances that few of us back home can imagine. It's also just as important for those left at home worrying to feel connected and close. There's no doubting the bravery of our military personnel but their families also show a great deal of courage. We owe it to them to help to ease the pain of separation."
