The print division of CMYK Group had been struggling with a downturn in the print sector together with cashflow difficulties and pressure from creditors to repay outstanding debt, leaving the business in an untenable position.

RSM Tenon has been appointed to wind the business down and will sell off the company’s plant, machinery and factory fixtures at auction. Other businesses within the group will not be affected.

The firm provided marketing materials for TV celebrity chefs Paul Heathcote and Jean Christophe Novelli and was a specialist in the hospitality sector, producing multi-purpose maps, design and print services.

It brings to an end a proud lineage for the Blackpool printers which had stretched right the way back to 1896, surviving war, social upheaval and numerous recessions.
