The northern division of PR group Freshwater has appointed Iain Lovell as a new director.

Previously head of communications and marketing at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, he also worked as a journalist at the Yorkshire Post, Sheffield Star, Bradford Telegraph & Angus and was part of the launch team for Yorkshire on Sunday.

In his new role, Lovell will lead the ten-strong team at Freshwater’s offices in Leeds and Sheffield and will act as a consultant for client, National Grid for stakeholder and community relations.

Steve Howell, CEO of Freshwater, commented: “We are looking to continue to expand in the north of England, building on our existing strong client base in the energy sector and our recent selection for several public sector rosters, including two in the NHS.

“Iain’s media background and experience of stakeholder communications for the public sector will be a big asset to our northern team and the group generally.”
