Facebook confirms 'simpler' privacy settings to be put in place

Facebook has confirmed that it will implement a new set of privacy settings from tomorrow (26 May,) following widespread criticism of the social networking giant.

Details of the new settings will be posted on the sites blog, although it is expected that they will be easier to use and follows weeks of criticism following the company’s changes which opened up its users to having some of their private information viewable to strangers, while third party website were also able to access data, leading to campaign for profile owners to quite the site.

A spokesperson for Facebook, said: "I can confirm that our new, simpler privacy settings are starting to roll out tomorrow evening so stay tuned on our blog for more details."
