Last month Trinity Mirror Digital Recruitment launched its first foray into the mobile medium with the launch of a new iPhone App. Already the App has attracted more than 10,000 downloads.

Trinity Mirror Digital Recruitment launched its JobSearch UK App last month, which brings together job opportunities from 50 of its regional news websites across the UK. Users can apply for the jobs directly from their mobile devices or they can send details of the job to a nominated email account.

The App was created for TMDR by Staffordshire-based digital marketing services agency TAMBA and already it is at number two in the business category of the Apps chart.

"We’ve seen considerable growth in iPhone app enquiries over the last few months by brands targeting audiences that may not have time to sit at a PC to get their online needs met. Trinity Mirror have recognised that their audience is predominantly on the move and is giving them access to all their job channels through the app meaning they can search and apply for a vacancy from anywhere." said TAMBA CEO, Kay Hammond.

"The team at TAMBA have delivered a first class app for us," said Dave Thomson, Product Manager at Trinity Mirror. "From day one they added value to the brief and are already working hard on ideas for a second version. Our aim from day one was to deliver a comprehensive job search and salary comparison app to our candidates and with the help of TAMBA we've achieved that."
