Visit Chester & Cheshire picks PHD North for media

Visit Chester & Cheshire has appointed PHD North as its media planning and buying agency.

The announcement comes a day after The Drum revealed the marketing campaign - Eventful Escapes - which the tourist board hopes will attract new short break visitors to the region.

Nicola Said, Visit Chester & Cheshire's head of marketing, said: "Put simply, our task is to grow visitor numbers to our region, and to increase overnight stays.

"For our main campaign of the year, our ‘Eventful Escapes’ creative approach showcases the diversity of events happening in the region. Combined with promotion of Cheshire’s gardens, we’ll be presenting to the consumer a series of reasons to visit our region.

"We’re talking to consumers within a highly competitive arena, which means our marketing has to work harder and harder. We believe that PHD North will help us to succeed in our ambition.”
