The Conservatives are attempting to win a few last-minute votes through by purchasing the main advert on YouTube, filling it with a video of David Cameron.

In a last gasp bid to get its message out to voters, the party's final election broadcast will greet visitors to the video sharing site for the duration of polling day.

The Labour Party meanwhile has sent a mass text message to 50,000 supporters urging them canvas voters.

Directing the recipient to the party website, the text requests contact details with a dedicated volunteer getting in touch to then inform them of their nearest marginal seat.
