BAA has released the names of the agencies who have been successful in winning advertising and media contracts across its six UK airports and Heathrow Express service.

Handling advertising sales for Heathrow airport and Heathrow Express, as well as advertising and news for Express TV, will be JCDecaux Airport. JCDecaux Airport will also be responsible for the advertising and promotional/experiential contracts at Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow airports

Stansted airport advertising sales will be handled by EYE, with Brandspace responsible for experiential promotions, and Airport Partners has been awarded the contract for Southampton airport across both advertising and promotions.

The tender process came about following the termination of the ‘pan-airport’ advertising agreement with JCDecaux Airport, enabling agencies to apply for one or more airports and Heathrow Express as combined or separate entities.

It also allows agencies to tender for multiple or individual mediums across the portfolio, from out-of-home, television, experiential, promotional and sponsorship.

John Holland Kaye, commercial director at BAA, commented on the tender process: “The tender attracted significant interest from a broad range of global and UK-based agencies keen to target the 144 million passengers that pass through BAA’s airports and the 5.5 million passengers on Heathrow Express each year. The level of competition was very high and we would like to thank all those who participated in a tender process which was full of inspired thinking.”
