Holmes & Marchant has redesigned the packaging for bottled water brand Buxton. Take a look at the before and afters here.

You can compare the before and after images in our gallery. The big change sees the water splash used on the old label disappear to make, in Holmes & Marchant's words, the Buxton name "more readable and recognisable".

The green hills representing Buxton's source in the Peak District have been softened, but the design trades on Buxton's British heritage by including a Union Jack within a water droplet.

Buckinghamshire-based Holmes & Marchant has applied the new look to Buxton's entire Natural Mineral Water range, which comes in various shapes and sizes including the standard 50cl bottle.

Caroline Juin, senior brand manager at Buxton owner Nestle Waters, said the new look gives the long-established brand "a modern twist".

"Buxton was the first British mineral water brand and it still emerges, as it has for hundreds of years, pure and ready to drink from our spring in the Peak District.

"With such a heritage, and as a brand growing ahead of the market, we knew we could have confidence in our product and wanted this to be reflected on pack with a clear and bold design that would see us earn the stand-out we deserved on-shelf."
