The first mobile app commissioned through the digital roster of the Scottish Government’s Marketing Services Framework has been created by The Union Consortium for the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

The app has been designed to allow students to build their own personal exam timetable on their mobile phones.

In developing the app, The Union partnered with Loc8 Solution and is available to download free on i-tunes as well and is being made available for Google and major mobile phones during April.

The app allow students to view their own exam schedule, email it to themselves or to friends and integrate it into their own calendars. It also provides information and resources to support students in their exam preparations, including linkes to relevant education websites.

The Union Consortium is continuing to develop further exam guidance content, including podcasts for the SQA site and mobile apps.

John McMorris, head of marketing for SQA, said: “SQA is committed to providing guidance and support to help students through this important time. We are delighted with the interest that has already been shown in this app. It’s a great way to help students organise their schedule and access other useful services, such as exam guidance and MySQA.”
