Manchester City Council has launched a marketing campaign urging its citizens to register to vote ahead of the election next month.

Created by the Council’s creative agency, m-four, the campaign centres around the line ‘Don’t lose your voice’ and features images of residents with their mouths obscured.

As well as six-sheets around the city centre, an ad van and a facebook presence, postcards were distributed in grass roots locations including local pubs, takeaways, doctors’ surgeries and job centres.

Rich Edwards, art director at m-four who lead the project, along with photographer Scott Kershaw, explained: “We needed a direct campaign that would really cut through the apathy towards voting. The settings were chosen to remind the public that the election will affect every aspect of their daily life - from public transport, to schools, to the price of a cup of tea.”
