Reading Room has opened an office in Brisbane, as strategic director Sarah Vick migrates to oversee the running of its Australian operation.

The agency is to invest $1m in building its Australian presence in the Asia Pacific marketplace.

Margaret Manning, Reading Room’s group CEO, explained: “We chose Brisbane because of its energy and vitality and also the excellence of the education system – we hope to hire some very bright, young, creative people and we are already in contact with local universities with a view to working together on research projects and spotting talent for the future.”

The launch event of the Brisbane office will be held on Thursday evening at the British Consulate in Brisbane, with over 35 members of staff employed by Reading Room in Australia, adding to its staff of over 100 in Manchester and London.

The Manchester operation is also currently recruiting for developers, designers and account managers.
