A £3m TV advertising campaign has been released for Irn Bru, created by The Leith Agency, as it looks to strengthen the brand in Scotland and the North of England.

Once again created by The Leith Agency, the 60 second advert continues the brand’s long running theme of Phenomenal and introduces some animated characters to the mix.

The ad, which hits screens from 6.45pm on Channel 4 tonight (6 April) features a man taking a walk on a miserable day in the countryside. Following a sip of Irn Bru, the sun begins to shine and he is joined by a cast of animated animals as he dances along the road.

Directed by Chris Mudge, and featuring animation by Sherbet and music by Candle, the advert will also be screened at cinemas through out Scotland as well as running on TV for nine weeks.

“We wanted this new campaign to reflect the phenomenal qualities and appeal of Irn Bru, and the power that the drink has to lift people’s moods and brighten their day,” explained Arian Troy, head of marketing for Irn Bru.

Music for the advert can also be downloaded as a free ring tone from the brand’s website, where the advert will also feature after its premier.

Earlier today, Irn Bru released a press teaser campaign to promote the advert.
