Former Carlsberg Marketer Green joins Global Brands

Simon Green, former marketing manager at Carlsberg UK, has joined independent drinks company Global Brands as marketing controller.

Green will head up the company’s portfolio of RTD, beer, spirits and soft drinks brands, having previously spent two years at Carlsberg UK.

He has also held marketing roles at Heineken and Scottish & Newcastle.

He will be tasked with work on Corky’s vodka shots, Myers’s Original Dark Rum, and energy drinks brand Kick Energy.

Global Brands has also said that it is planning further NPD and innovations throughout 2010.

Green commented: “It’s an exciting time to be joining Global Brands, one of the most dynamic and ambitious businesses within the drinks industry. The company has seen huge successes in the last two years, extending its beverage portfolio to include innovative products across the RTD, beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks categories.”

He continued to say that he would look to draw on his experience to lead the marketing team in delivering the best in class, customer and brand building initiatives.

“Global Brands is ideally placed to react and respond to ever changing consumer and customer expectations, so that we can be first to market with innovation, and deliver fantastic brand growth across the portfolio,” added Green.
