The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) is to launch an awareness raising campaign to consumers.

McCann Erickson Manchester has been appointed following a three-way-pitch through the Central Office of Information, and will work to develop creative as part of a multi-channel strategy which was created by Mindshare.

The campaign will run across tv and press.

Yesterday, it emerged that the UK Government had spent £253m in the last year on advertising.

The agency beat Leo Burnett and Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R to win the contract.
