Dry dog food supplier Wagg Foods is to launch a national TV campaign following a three-year absence from British screens.

The new TV ad, which will go live on 18 February, is part of a £1million marketing support campaign which also includes store activity, sampling and PR.

Running for four weeks exclusively on ITV, the 30 second ads were developed by Leeds-based Banana Kick and humorously communicate the widespread appeal of Wagg products through a series of scenarios in which dogs express their love for Wagg through the medium of tail wagging.

The commercial runs in time to a track entitled Ska Roots composed by Steve Everitt and ends with the line "Wagg; great for pets and pockets".

Tom Page, sales and marketing director for Wagg Foods, said of the return to TV advertising: "Our presence back on TV this year is testament to the brand's continued success and growth, which shows no sign of abating in 2010. The commercial is representative of our core values; great tasting, quality, nutritious food at a great price point."
