Yorkshire Tea has unveiled its new TV campaign which features an amorous couple breaking off from their steamy embrace so they can enjoy a cuppa.

The ad, created by BMB, shows the couple locked in a passionate clinch before the man leans in and whispers in his Yorkshire brogue, "would you like a cup of tea?"

The Yorkshire lass is delighted by the suggestion and the couple only carry on where they left off once the important business of supping their brew is taken care of.

Clare Abbot, sales and marketing director at Yorkshire Tea owner Taylors of Harrogate, said: "Building on the launch campaign of August last year, this latest iteration of our brand message – the importance of teatime – really gets to the heart of a proper Yorkshire teatime.

"A motivating message for our target tea drinkers, we believe this integrated campaign will continue to drive awareness and trial of the brand, providing an overlay to our in-store promotional and on-pack activity that can deliver a healthy multiplier effect.”

The TV campaign airs this week and will be supported by national press and online media.

BMB has held the Yorkshire Tea account since 2008, when it moved from Manchester agency Love.
