Yorkshire Water has appointed Iris Associates as its creative marketing agency.

Iris will now be helping the utilities provider to communicate its messages to domestic and business customers, from responsible and sustainable use of water and the sewerage network through to charges, bills and value for money, plus education about the utility’s land, property and maintenance activities.

It is likely that a range of channels will be employed including TV, direct mail, email marketing, online advertising, virals and social media.

Maria Vardy, client services director and a partner at Iris, commented: “We’re really excited about the win and are already talking to our new clients about a major campaign for next year. We see our task as bringing joined up creative and strategic thinking to the mix and will be adopting an entirely media neutral approach to planning.

“Going forward, our role will encompass a large part of the utility company’s creative campaign activity and we’re looking forward to helping them meet the challenges that all water and sewerage companies are facing over the next few years.”

Leanda Trethewey, PR and campaigns manager at Yorkshire Water said: “Iris’s creativity and campaign led approach really impressed us. As a company we pride ourselves on creating imaginative yet informative campaigns that allow us to communicate with our customers in the most effective way – with Iris’s help we will continue to do this whilst making the most of the new channels available to us.”
