Creative Islington has commissioned Fudge and The White Room to develop and build a new digital platform to serve as the focal point for Islington’s cultural and creative sectors.

The independent third sector organisation promotes Islington’s local creative cluster, which includes 14 theatre and dance venues, an extensive community arts sector and major collectives in architecture, crafts and the performing arts, by bringing them together with the local authority and relevant strategic partners to assist its continued development.

The new website will be a vital tool in bringing together this creative and cultural community, developing collaborations, encouraging participation in the arts, and promoting the work of the sector to residents and visitors.

Creative Islington board member James West said: “The development of the Creative Islington website marks a new chapter in the life of Creative Islington and will be a major resource for the borough’s arts and creative industries. We are delighted to be working with Islington Council on this exciting initiative that will see the sector continue to flourish and grow”.

Meanwhile, Phil Jeffs, technical director at Fudge, commented: “Creative Islington is an exciting project for us, and we look forward to developing a long-term relationship with the organisation.

“Fudge has been tasked with developing a community-based site, which will connect both the individuals within the region and the external audience of visitors and potential service procurers. Fudge looks forward to another positive collaboration with The White Room following the success of the Creative Central project for North Staffordshire and the re-launch of Creative Times in Manchester.”
