The Sports Group of European Former Players Association (EFPA) has appointed Paver Smith as it looks set to hold its annual congress in Liverpool in April.

This is the first time that the two day event will take place outside of Barcelona and has tasked the agency to be its principle organiser and to raise commercial sponsorship.

The event has been developed from concept by Paver Smith, and as well as embracing EFPA’s annual Assembly will look to engage a wide range of different groups such as former players, professional clubs, the business community and many schools and schoolchildren.

Martyn Best, Paver Smith director and Trustee of the Everton Former Players Foundation, said: “As a massive football fan I am very excited that we have been asked to create, manage and deliver this event.

“It is bound to capture the imagination of many football fans throughout the region and indeed beyond, and the household names we are talking to will surely make this event one of the footballing highlights of World Cup year.”
