A campaign has been launched to educate people about the danger of drinking excessively on an empty stomach by WFCA.

The agency has worked in partnership with Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, the Community Safety Partnership and local pubs to deliver the poster campaign.

The campaign will run outdoor, in local pubs and bars and also floor vinyls will be used to highlight the message.

Nick Radley, planning director at WFCA, explained: “Our research into common bugbears during the party season showed that whilst everyone really looks forward to the Christmas night out, it can often be spoiled by someone drinking too much and needing to be looked after. Similarly, waking up with the horror of being the person that spoiled the party is something we all want to avoid. We needed to find a way to reach people in a really practical way with a message about having fun and staying in control over Christmas, but without being party poopers. Our solution was simple: ‘Eat. Then Drink and Be Merry’. People simply need to make sure they have a bite to eat before and/or during a night out”

Having come up with the idea, the agency approached Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and the Local Community Safety Partnership, to work in partnership to deliver the campaign in key areas.
