Young Scot has launched its annual report, designed by Glasgow-based Frame.

Frame was earlier appointed by Young Scot to create a number of printed materials for the the Scottish youth information portal.

The brief presented to the agency stated that "Young Scot prides itself on being a modern, creative and fresh organisation...

The briefing continued: "While the printed materials are all aimed at at corporate partners and stakeholders, we still want to demonstrate these elements through all our resources. So we are looking for design which is fun, contemporary and crisp. They should show that we understand young people (but are not desperately trying to be 'cool' or 'funky'). We also want these materials to illustrate our organisational values.

"We are not scared to take risks. We believe that coming up with creative and unique formats can be just as important as actual design. In previous years our Annual Reports have ranged from oversized "yearbooks" to folders with postcards and booklets. We don't want materials to be too wordy. We are keen to find ways of presenting and communicating through information and visuals."
