Energy provider E.ON has launched its ‘Winter Advice Bureau’ as it reveals the UK’s top 25 Home Energy Hotspots using a trailer designed by Michon.

The Bureau will look to offer face-to-face advice on lower energy costs throughout winter and has tasked Nottingham-based Michon with creating an engaging customer experience to highlight the savings message.

Michon has used E.ON’s new illustrative style for the interior and exterior of the trailer to bring E.ON’s new communications style to life and create a ‘home’ environment.

The trailer has been designed to feature an exterior and interior set up to resemble a home ebvironment which will include educational areas as well as areas to give personalised advice from E.ON. Illustrated characters will also be used to issue advice alongside an outdoor game called Aim for Zero Waste which aims to attract passers-by with the opportunity of winning energy efficient prizes.

An online version of the game has also been added to the E.ON Winter Advice Bureau website.

A teacup leaflet will be handed out at the trailer to encourage the public to join E.ON for a cup of tea and offer then the chance to win tickets for the FA Cup Final.

Jag Kahlon, senior campaign officer in E.ON’s Customer PR Team, explained: “Winter is here, and the colder temperatures and darker nights inevitably lead to people using more energy. That’s why we’ve taken to the streets to offer advice that will help ensure people aren’t using more energy and spending more than they need to.

“We gave Michon a difficult brief and they embraced the challenge and worked closely with us to create an engaging and inviting way to communicate this advice. We’re delighted with the end result.”

Caroline Matthews, account marketing manager at Michon, said: “We’re thrilled to be involved with E.ON’s project to help us all learn about how we can save energy throughout our homes and save money this winter. The design of the trailer ensures the whole experience is fun and memorable, yet still very informative.”
