KLM has added to its destination marketing portfolio by winning a fourway pitch for Stratforward Business Improvement District’s Christmas campaign.

The Moseley-based independent creative agency’s brief is to drive footfall into Stratford- upon-Avon’s town centre during the festive season to support businesses within the Business Improvement District, under the theme of ‘Stratford: Perfect for Christmas’.

KLM has produced previous campaigns for Stratforward and was instrumental in Stratford becoming the first historical town to attain status as a Business Improvement District.

Stratforward executive project director, Jonathan Birkett said: “We were looking for a strong proposition that could compete with the Christmas marketing overload but also a positioning that would carry us through various events and marketing activity until summer 2010. The decision to pick KLM as our partner was unanimous.”

The marketing package includes a press and radio campaign, posters, signage, a massive building wrap, website, competition and event support literature.

Commenting on the win, KLM chairman Jon Derry said “We’re developing a range of West Midlands clients like Stratforward, who value KLM’s expertise in promoting the region and optimising their proposition.”
