Lis Anderson, managing director of Bristol PR firm Corixa Communications, has left the agency and taken up the role of director of JBP Communications.

Anderson (pictured) takes on the newly-created role at Bristol-based JBP a month after it opened a London office and as it eyes further expansion into Birmingham.

The appointment sees her join the company's board, taking the 25 year old agency's number of board directors to six.

She said: "I've known JBP and gotten on well with the directors for a while and ended up talking to them while they were about to begin an ambitious growth plan through opening an office in London and looking to do more in Birmingham.

“My role here will be to develop the JBP brand and also help grow the business across Bristol, London and Birmingham. The opportunities available to us in Birmingham will allow us to strengthen stakeholder communications and parliamentary affairs.”

Anderson's former agency, Corixa, has no plans to hire a direct replacement.

Instead, Helen Marsden, the agency's chairman, said Anderson's responsibilities would be shared out among senior staff.

"We've got a great senior team here, so what Lis's departure does is offer them more opportunities," Marsden said.

"We're not recruiting specifically, it just gives our senior team a slot to move into," she added.
