Birmingham City Football Club has launched two websites dedicated to its junior fanbase, designed by digital marketing agency Rippleffect.

Accessed via the club’s official website, the sites (Beau’s Buddies and Blues Crew) are online portals for young fans and encourage members to interact with the brand and increase membership to its two junior clubs: Beau’s Buddies and Blues Crew.

Members can gain access to games, puzzles, competitions, skills videos and all the latest news on the club and its players.

Ben Hatton, managing director at Rippleffect, said: “The junior websites provide a unique opportunity for the club to interact and engage with its young fans.

“A key element of our brief was to ensure kids can learn and improve their game using the site, and also ensure they have a voice and a platform to be heard. It also provides a quick and easy way to update content on a daily basis and tailor it specifically to junior Blues.”

And Alexa Stockham, head of marketing and communications at Birmingham City Football Club, added: “Since the launch of the Beau’s Buddies and Blues Crew websites we have seen our membership numbers increase significantly.

“Interacting with our young supporters is one of the key focuses at the club as we build for the future. We are delighted to have two fantastic websites designed specifically for children to keep them up to date with news, events and games from the club.”

Rippleffect now counts six Premier League football clubs amongst its clients and has also been appointed to create a series of microsites for Bolton Wanderers Football Club.
