Design and brand consultancy Uniform has been commissioned to create the 2010 Liverpool City Region Visitor Guide.

The Mersey Partnership selected Liverpool-based Uniform for the task after a "rigorous" tender process which started in July.

The Visitor Guide is The Mersey Partnership's principle tourism publication, and the vision for the new edition is "to create an up-market, high quality and informative destination guide with a clear consumer focus".

Uniform's design director, Tim Sharp, said: "We are absolutely delighted to be working with The Mersey Partnership, and are looking forward to helping to promote our city as a first-class, must-visit, cultural destination."

The 2010 visitor guide will be available later this year.

Uniform already works with a number of the city's brands, including Liverpool Vision, National Museums Liverpool, Liverpool Cathedral and the Everyman and Playhouse Theatres.

The agency was recently appointed to design the city's presence at next year's World Expo in Shanghai.
