Clothing brand Aertex has appointed Cube3 to develop its online marketing strategy.

Aertex, established more than 100 years ago, wants to grow market share in line with the way rival clothing brands such as Gola, Lyle & Scott and Fred Perry have enjoyed a recent renaissance.

Bolton-based Cube3 has been briefed to focus on furthering the brand's reach in the online space, "ensuring that every opportunity is exploited with precise targeting of its core demographic".

Karl Barker, the agency's managing director, said: "We conducted some due diligence on Aertex before engaging with them from a consumer point of view and we were not only captivated by this brand, from a heritage perspective, but also by the fact that Aertex has that underground type appeal that makes the brand very accessible, but also exclusive too.

“It's not all about financial might and it is our challenge to channel effective marketing without telephone number size budgets."
