FestBuzz.com, the twitter review site covering all the Edinburgh Festivals, is organising Scotland's first live twitter comedy event as part of the Official Fringe Party, the "Twinge Party".

Lasting thirty minutes, four comedians will perform a short set each live from the Twinge Party – by texting their comedy to the Twitter site.

The messages, brought together on the FestBuzz site, will give people around the world a chance to watch a little piece of the Edinburgh Fringe unfold before their eyes online.

At the Twinge Party venue, one screen will project the comedians' sets and another will show the crowd's responses to their jokes, about the party and other acts.

The Twinge Party, sponsored by Informatics Ventures, is being run by Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Throughout August thousands of Festival-goers have been sending their own mini-reviews of performances they've seen, which are picked up by the FestBuzz.com site and turned into star ratings for each show.

The first Twitter Comedy event, organised by up and coming stand-up Tiernan Douieb, went live in June this year, and was highly successful with thousands of "viewers" logging on from around the world to watch, read, laugh and tweet heckles back at the acts.

The Twinge Party will replicate some of this comedy buzz with a short series of Twitter sets from four great acts, with the acts tweeting live from the party to the world.

To get involved you can either follow @festbuzz and @edinburghfringe via Twitter or visit the following website on Friday night from 6pm: http://www.festbuzz.com/twitcom/. A secret hashtag will be revealed on the night for people wishing to follow chatter live from the event.

FestBuzz is a service powered by 4iP, Channel 4's Innovation for the Public Fund.
