Paramount Pictures has launched two online games created by Rippleffect to promote its Nickelodeon products on Amazon.co.uk.

The film company appointed the Liverpool-based digital marketing agency to create themed games around children's characters Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants.

The aim of the games is to raise awareness of Nickelodeon's latest releases and special offers and encourage users to visit Amazon's standalone Nickelodeon store.

Ben Hayward, creative director at Rippleffect, said: “Gaming is very popular among Paramount Pictures younger audience and the new content on Amazon offers a varied and exciting addition to its user experience.

“Its content is immersive, provides a challenge to capture the audience’s attention and ensures users spend more time on the site."

The Dora the Explorer puzzle game is designed to fit with Nickelodeon's promise to encourage pre-schoolers to "play, laugh and learn" with Dora.

In the Spongebob SquarePants game, visitors are challenged to match pairs of cards with different characters from the programme.

The new game content on Amazon is designed to engage and encourage user interaction, increase the frequency of visits to the Nickelodeon store and increase the time users spend on the site.
