The Herald & Times Group is piloting a new website which it hopes will become the national hub for its Scottish news through The Herald, Evening Times and Sunday Herald.

The Glasgow-based group has launched heraldscotland.com which it hopes will break news and become ‘a centre of reader debate on issues of interest’.

The site will replace the current Herald and Sunday Herald web sites.

Donald Martin, editor-in-chief at Newsquest Herald & Evening Times, commented: “heraldscotland.com opens a new era in our internet operations with multimedia news and comment from one of Scotland’s biggest and best teams of journalists, forums for the most informed debate in the nation shaped around state-of-the industry features and technology. We hope you enjoy it whether you are using it on a PC, laptop, mobile or internet-connected television.”

The new site is the latest move from the company which has slowly been integrating its titles with the news desks for each paper now working more closely, as are other departments within the company.
