A new advertising campaign for energy firm Airtricity has been created by the Edinburgh office of The Gate Worldwide.

The agency was appointed to work on the campaign which aims to expand the company’s customer base, following a competitive pitch.

This is the first time Airtricity have chosen to advertise on TV to the domestic market.

The Gate was tasked with producing a creative campaign that would persuade consumers to ‘make the better switch’ in a way that was both engaging and effective. As well as this, part of the challenge was to ensure that this campaign could grow and develop over the next three to four years.

The agency chose to create an Airtricity Family who could deliver the message ‘switching is child¹s play’.

The idea, devised by creatives Zoe Martin and Kirsten Murray, was to play on the kids misunderstanding of their parents¹ money-saving expressions.

The animated campaign will run across TV, Radio, Outdoor, Online as well as Ambient.
