The first in a series of newsletters commemorating 10 years of redevelopment for Manchester’s Northern Quarter have been designed by Vivid.

Muse commissioned Vivid to produce a magazine-style newsletter that communicates what the area has to offer. Vivid has now completed the first of the 'In the Mix' publications, which focuses on the people and businesses that make the Northern Quarter unique.

The publications will be used to target people who live and work in the Northern Quarter, along with anyone visiting the area, with 2000 copies being distributed via Manchester City Council and local hotels and bars.

Karl Sanderson, creative director of Vivid, said: "There are so many different facets to the Northern Quarter and it was important to communicate all of these in the newsletter. Not only is it a creative hub, attracting artists, musicians and poets from all of the world, and a place of rich cultural diversity, but it also has the fun element - with it's wide range of cafes, restaurants, galleries, shops, bars and nightclubs.

"Through the design and copy of the newsletter, we have embraced all of these elements to communicate what makes the Northern Quarter unique. We opted for an informal, yet intellectual, conversational style to talk to the target audience in their own language and made design decisions that reflected the edgy style of the area and commemorated the 10 year anniversary of the regeneration project."
