TBWA\Manchester has entered into a redundancy consultation process involving staff who worked on the ghd account following its move to London.

It is thought that about half a dozen employees at the agency are involved in the process, which is understood to come to an end soon.

Fergus McCallum, CEO for TBWA\Manchester, said: "We are now re-organising following the movement of the ghd account and I can confirm that, as a result, we are unfortunately in a redundancy consultation process.

"We have acted quickly in order to minimise the number of posts at risk and as a result we expect the outcome to result in a small reduction in staff numbers."

The redundancy process follows ghd moving its advertising account to Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R at the end of June, following a pitch which TBWA\Manchester declined to be involved with.

London agencies MCBD, Grey and Atelier made up the pitch list while Fallon was also involved in the early stages.
